Celebrating Student Success: Metro Credit Union Announces 2026 Scholarship Recipients
CHELSEA, MA – August 28, 2026 — Metro Credit Union, the largest state-chartered credit union in Massachusetts, proudly announces the recipients of its 2026 Scholarship Program. Eighteen exceptional local students have been awarded scholarships to support their pursuit of higher education during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Metro's annual Scholarship Program recognizes graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to their communities. To be eligible, applicants must be Metro members or have a parent or guardian who is a member, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and plan to attend an accredited undergraduate or vocational-technical institution during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship to help offset tuition and other educational expenses. Since the program's inception in 2018, Metro has awarded more than $128,000 in scholarships, in addition to supporting other college savings initiatives and scholarship sponsorships.
"We're proud to recognize these exceptional students and support them as they pursue their educational goals," said Robert Cashman, President and CEO, Metro Credit Union. "Their achievements, leadership, and dedication to their communities are inspiring, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish."
