Metro Credit Union Announces Recipients Of 2022 Scholarship America Educational Funding
CHELSEA, MA, June 13, 2022 – Metro Credit Union, Massachusetts’ largest state-charted credit union, today announced that 11 students have received a scholarship to continue their educational endeavors into college and beyond. Metro provides ongoing resources for local high school students to improve their financial literacy, while granting opportunities for exceptional students to receive funds to use toward college expenses.
Each year, Metro encourages high school seniors who are members of Metro Credit Union, or who have a parent or guardian who is a member, to apply for the chance to receive $1,000 towards their college tuition. Students are eligible to apply if planning to enroll for the first time in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the upcoming academic year.
This year, 11 scholarship recipients were selected based on academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unique personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. This year’s recipients include:
