Metro Credit Union Awards $19,000 in Scholarships to Local Students
CHELSEA, MA – August 14, 2024 – Metro Credit Union, the largest state-chartered credit union in Massachusetts, is pleased to announce that 19 students have been selected as 2024 Metro Credit Union Scholarship Program recipients to further their education in the 2024-25 school year.
Each year through the Scholarship Program, Metro provides support to graduating high school seniors who meet eligibility requirements and plan to continue their education. To apply, students must be Metro Credit Union members or have a parent or guardian who is a member, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and plan to enroll in an accredited undergraduate or vocational-technical program in the upcoming school year. Scholarship recipients receive $1,000 to be used toward tuition and education expenses. Metro has awarded $92,000 through the Scholarship Program since its beginning in 2018, in addition to participating in other scholarship sponsorships and college savings programs.

Metro Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic record, demonstrated leadership, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. The 2024 Scholarship recipients are:
