Government Center Branch Closing
The Government Center branch permanently closed at the end of business day May 31, 2024.
The Government Center branch, located at 100 City Hall Plaza in Boston, is now permanently closed. Please note that there is no impact to existing accounts and no action needs to be taken.
With the impact of the COVID pandemic, the way people work and bank has changed. Today, many jobs are remote or have relocated outside of the greater Boston area, and our members are now banking through digital channels or at a Metro branch closer to home. This, along with an overall reduction of foot traffic in the Government Center area, has resulted in a decline in transactions and member visits at our Government Center branch, which led to this decision.
Easy access wherever you are
The good news—our Digital Branch, our most convenient location, is available to you. You can connect with a live agent during business hours on your phone or computer from anywhere, and they’ll assist you with most transactions you’d normally perform in a branch.
