Robert Cashman Named Board Treasurer of the National Credit Union Foundation
Metro Credit Union, Massachusetts’ largest state-chartered credit union, today announced that Robert Cashman, CEO and president, has been named Board Treasurer of the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF). In this role, he is responsible for general financial oversight of the Foundation’s accounts, as well as funding, fundraising, and other various membership duties.
NCUF, which is closely aligned with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), is widely known as the charitable arm of the U.S. credit union movement. Its vision is to make financial freedom achievable through credit unions. In the last fifteen years, NCUF has awarded more than $36 million worth of grants to help credit unions better serve their members.
“I believe in NCUF’s mission and vision and strongly align myself with its core value of connecting people with possibilities,” said Cashman. “At Metro, we are in the business of helping people; I am aware of the obvious synergy between these two organizations and look forward to the value I can bring to the Board.”
In addition to NCUF, Cashman currently sits on the Boards of Inversant and the New England Automated Clearing House and has previously served on the Boards of Cooperative Credit Union Association, Credit Union National Association, CUNA Strategic Services, and Central Credit Union Fund.
