Metro Credit Union

Metro Credit Union is pleased to announce the promotion of Robert Cleary to Assistant Vice President Area Branch Manager. Cleary oversees the Melrose, Newton, and Framingham Branches and is responsible for the daily operations of the branches, as well as providing leadership, training, and supervision to the staff. He brings 30 years of credit union management experience to his role.

Cleary joined Metro Credit Union in 2011 as a result of a merger with Secure Credit Union, and since that time, has consistently made recommendations for improvements and innovations to enhance the member experience. Prior to joining Metro, he spent 17 years at Secure Credit Union as Treasurer and Manager, and had also served as President and CEO of GR Patriot Federal Credit Union.

While at Metro, Cleary has been an active member of the Melrose community, supporting the Salvation Army holiday drive, organizing teams for the Melrose Run for Women, and participating in the annual Victorian Fair. Charlene Bauer, SVP of Advocacy and Outreach, shares “Bob truly embodies the spirit of Metro each day through his involvement with members, employees, and the community.”

Cleary earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is a resident of Saugus.
