Metro Credit Union Lead Sponsor of Inversant’s 2nd Annual Barrier Bash
CHELSEA, MA, October 27, 2021 – Metro Credit Union, Massachusetts’ largest state-charted credit union, today announced it is the Lead Sponsor of Inversant’s 2nd Annual Barrier Bash virtual event. Working to make higher education a reality for low and-moderate-income families in Greater Boston, Inversant offers well-defined solutions that help overcome barriers and make college more attainable and affordable.
The Barrier Bash is Inversant’s signature fundraising event which heightens awareness, drives conversation, and accelerates the dismantling of systemic and cultural barriers students and their families may face. The virtual bash is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. featuring multiple guest speakers who are alumni or employees of Inversant. All are welcome to attend and registration is free on Eventbrite, with an option to add a donation to Inversant at checkout.
“Metro applauds the strides Inversant has made within the community development and financial empowerment spaces,” said Charlene Bauer, SVP Outreach, Advocacy and Chief Development Officer of Metro Credit Union. “We are honored to work alongside an organization making higher education a reality for as many students and their families as possible.”
This year’s event will build off the existing partnership between Metro Credit Union and Inversant. At the 2020 Barrier Bash, Metro and Inversant combined efforts to distribute $50,000 in donated funds to 435 students.
“Inversant and Metro Credit Union have enjoyed over a decade long history of collaboration. We are so excited to build upon that rich history of partnership as we move into a new era of service to the community together,” said Heidi Hancock, President of Inversant.
