The Impact We Made in 2025

Metro Credit Union’s 2025 Community Impact Report highlights a year defined by intentional investment, partnership, and progress.
It reflects investment in families striving for stability, supporting the financial futures members work hard to build, and in the strength and resilience of the local neighborhoods that help our communities thrive.
A Few Highlights from the Past Year
Metro Perks Helps Checking Members Save More Every Day
In 2025, Metro enhanced our checking accounts with the launch of Metro Perks, a new benefits program designed to help members stretch their budgets with discounts, protection services, and everyday savings opportunities.
Over 38,000 eligible checking members can now save up to $1,200 a year through perks like local and national discounts, cell phone protection, roadside assistance, and much more.
New Financial Education Partners
In 2025, Metro expanded its member support by adding easy‑to‑use financial empowerment resources that help families learn, save, and access essential assistance:
- Greenlight: Metro members now receive free access to Greenlight’s family finance app, helping kids and teens build money skills through a debit card, parental controls, and interactive financial‑literacy games
- Metro Assistance Portal (M.A.P.): Powered by Starlight, M.A.P. helps members quickly identify and apply for local, state, and federal assistance programs, offering personalized guidance and connecting households to unclaimed benefits
- Penny Finance: Penny Finance enhances the member experience by providing personalized financial coaching, easy‑to‑understand money lessons, and digital tools that help members and first‑time wealth builders tackle debt, grow savings, and make confident financial decisions
Metro Credit Union Foundation & Additional Community Donations
Launched in 2023 as Metro’s dedicated hub for community reinvestment, the Foundation has rapidly expanded its support for nonprofits focused on housing, financial empowerment, small‑business growth, and neighborhood development:
- $100,000 awarded in 2025 to 10 nonprofit organizations working in financial education, homeownership access, small‑business development, and community improvement
- $308,000 in total grants awarded since the Foundation’s launch, reinforcing Metro’s commitment to helping build financially resilient communities
- Grants typically are awarded to high‑impact, community‑based initiatives serving low‑ to moderate‑income households
