What changing on July 1, 2025?
To help provide the best checking accounts possible, we’re making important changes to our existing products. On July 1, 2025, the following can be expected:
- My Reward Checking features will change. Members can remain in that account or switch to Metro Checking to earn many of the previous benefits they had in My Reward Checking.
- Free Checking will retire, and those members will transfer automatically to Metro Checking, an account that gives them more freedom and flexibility.
* When you meet three of the following criteria in any one month, you will be made eligible for a premium package of value-added benefits in partnership with BaZing as outlined on our website at MetroCU.org. Qualifying transactions must post and clear by the last business day of the month. Activation of benefits is required. (1) eCommunications opt in (2) Direct Deposit of at least $500.00 per month into your Metro Checking Account (3) Debt Card Purchases at least 5 times per month (each transaction must be for $1.00 or more) (4) Active Metro loan (includes credit card or student loan) (5) Average monthly balance greater than $5,000.00 in your Metro Checking Account.
1 ATM fees charged by other ATM owners (3rd Party ATM Fees) are reimbursed, provided you meet three of the following criteria each month. Qualifying transactions must post and clear by the last business day of the month. (1) eCommunications opt in (2) Direct Deposit of at least $500.00 per month into your Metro Checking Account (3) Debt Card Purchases at least 5 times per month (each transaction must be for $1.00 or more) (4) Active Metro loan (includes credit card or student loan) (5) Average monthly balance greater than $5,000.00 in your Metro Checking Account. ATM fees will be aggregated and credited to your Metro Checking Account monthly.
2 Provided you meet three of the following criteria each month you may be eligible for a higher rate on your Membership Savings Account as outlined in our Rates. Qualifying transactions must post and clear by the last business day of the month. (1) eCommunications opt in (2) Direct Deposit of at least $500.00 per month into your Metro Checking Account (3) Debt Card Purchases at least 5 times per month (each transaction must be for $1.00 or more) (4) Active Metro loan (includes credit card or student loan) (5) Average monthly balance greater than $5,000.00 in your Metro Checking Account.
3 Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we may not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, you are not making regular deposits, or you have too many overdrafts. You must bring the account to a positive balance within 10 calendar days after the first transaction that creates a negative balance on your account.
