Metro Credit Union Announces Free Financial Education Seminar Series
Metro Credit Union announces a series of complimentary financial education seminars focusing on investments and home buying to be held throughout the year at Metro branches and other convenient locations. A component of Metro’s ongoing financial education programming, the annual seminar series provides in-class instruction and activities to credit union and community members throughout the area. By continuing to host financial education seminars, the credit union demonstrates its commitment to providing services and tools to individuals in the achievement of a positive financial future.
The Investment Seminar Series will include three workshops offered in the spring and fall. Social Security seminars will discuss the “rules of the road” for receiving Social Security benefits, ways to maximize benefits, the future of Social Security, and setting up a retirement income stream. Investment Planning seminars will focus on key principles to guide the development and implementation of an investment plan. The Retirement Income Planning component of the series will focus on positioning assets to provide income, creating a retirement plan, and estimating the amount of money required to reach lifestyle goals.
First Time Homebuyer seminars will educate participants on home buying basics, financing options, and the step-by-step process—from pre-approval through closing.
“The seminar series has been a great success, and we are very excited to continue our financial wellness programing with an even more robust series in 2019,” says Charlene Bauer, Chief Development Officer, SVP Outreach and Advocacy. “Purchasing a home and retiring from the workforce are major milestones that require adept financial skills. We’re proud to provide these learning opportunities to help connect people with tools and resources for a positive financial future.”
