Metro Sponsors Peabody Elementary School Field Trip
Metro Credit Union presented Peabody’s Thomas Carroll Elementary School 5th grade class with $1,000 towards a field trip as part of a Facebook School Field Trip Contest.
Metro Credit Union hosted a contest on its Facebook page asking the community to nominate a grade and school for the chance to win $1,000 towards a field trip. The school which gathered the most “likes” won the contest. Metro member Michael Jordon nominated the 5th grade class of the Thomas Carroll Elementary School in Peabody, which was selected as the winner after gaining 120 “likes”.
“Metro Credit Union is committed to giving back to the community and providing opportunities for learning, and the Facebook Field Trip Contest allowed us to do both”, said Charlene Bauer, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Metro Credit Union. “We were impressed to see all of the support for the Carroll School and hope that the 5th grade class has a wonderful time with the activity they choose.”
“We are so grateful to Metro Credit Union for making this possible”, said Tracy Smith, Principal of Thomas Carroll Elementary School. Principal Smith noted that the 5th grade class would use the $1,000 towards a year-end activity.
