Metro Donates $1000 to the Newmarket Business Association

Chelsea, MA (January 13, 2016) – Metro Credit Union, the Commonwealth’s largest state-chartered credit union, donated $1000 to the Newmarket Business Association, a local non-profit committed to the continued growth of business in the Newmarket District of Boston as part of their annual meeting and fundraiser.
Metro joined local civic leaders and dignitaries including Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz, City Counsilor-At-Large Ayanna Pressley, and Commissioner Evans among others in support of the Newmarket Business Association’s annual meeting and fundraiser and their role as industrial and economic developers in Boston.  The Keynote address was presented by Mayor Walsh and reflected upon Newmarket’s vibrant industrial area, diversity, as well as up and coming business opportunities and its importance to the economic health of Boston.
“For over 63 years, the Newmarket Business Association has maintained their commitment to the economic growth and development of the Newmarket Industrial District.  We at Metro are proud to support the Association during its annual fundraiser and its 200 members in their mission to improve the area’s workforce; ultimately reducing the cost of doing business and making available the resources area businesses need to compete and thrive,” said Saritin Rizzuto, AVP of Community and Business Development at Metro Credit Union.
The monies raised during the annual meeting and fundraiser will support the Newmarket Business Association’s continued objective to facilitate relations between business and government, develop economic growth in Boston, and strengthen community relations.
