Metro Credit Union Donates to Citizens for Adequate Housing

CHELSEA, Mass. (February 15, 2016) – For the third year in a row, Metro Credit Union, the largest state-chartered credit union in Massachusetts, presented a donation of $500 in new, warm blankets to Peabody-based Citizens for Adequate Housing.  The donation was made at Metro Credit Union’s branch at 68 Main Street in Peabody.

Metro CU’s Peabody branch manager Vanessa Silveira presented the blankets and check to Corey Jackson, Executive Director of Citizens for Adequate Housing, which breaks the patterns of instability that lead to homelessness for every family served.

“We are delighted that Metro continues to support Citizens for Adequate Housing and our families. This donation is integral to our overall mission to ensure families experiencing homelessness have everything they need to create a new home,” says Jackson.

Metro CU encourages the community to support organizations like Citizens for Adequate Housing, which works tirelessly to empower homeless families and create more success stories in the communities it serves. Donations, which can be made online at www.cahns.org have the following essential impact in the community:
•    $100 supplies emergency diapers to a family in need.
•    $250 transports family members to medical appointments and job interviews.
•    $500 covers groceries for all of the families we serve.
•    $1,000 funds services and housing for one homeless family.

This donation was given in sponsorship of the Massachusetts Credit Union League’s January Blanket Drive.
