Metro Credit Union Sponsors the Haven Project and Celebrate Literacy Day

Chelsea, MA (September 18, 2015) – Metro Credit Union sponsored The Haven Project and Celebrate Literacy Day on Thursday, September 17, 2015. As a commitment to the credit union mantra “People Helping People” Metro has been a community partner with The Haven Project for just over two years. Lynn Branch Manager, Diana Moreno and AVP, Community Relations, Saritin Rizzuto are co-chairpersons of the Celebrate Literacy Day Committee in Lynn and when it came time to select an organization to highlight during Literacy Day, The Haven Project was selected.
“Over $12,000 was raised last night for The Haven Project to establish a GED program to help kids that have dropped out of high school finish and move on to achieve another life goal,” remarked Diana Moreno, Lynn Branch Manager and Co-Chairperson of the Celebrate Literacy Day Committee.
The Haven Project equips and empowers unaccompanied and at-risk young adults ages 17-24 in the city of Lynn and surrounding areas with the skills and support they need to achieve their life’s purpose.
