Metro Credit Union Donates Thanksgiving Baskets to Hallmark Health System

CHELSEA, Mass. (November 23, 2015) – Metro Credit Union, the Commonwealth’s largest state-chartered credit union donated 27 Thanksgiving baskets to Hallmark Health System in Malden, MA.
Annually Metro Credit Union selects a charitable organization that identifies families in need of Thanksgiving Day food and supplies. Metro Credit Union employees assembled, decorated and delivered the baskets to Hallmark Health System.
"The Thanksgiving Basket tradition continues to grow in size and enthusiasm. This is just one way Metro likes to help families during the holidays and our employees look forward to creating these baskets every year," said Charlene Bauer, Senior Vice President of Community & Business Development.
“We are honored to have Metro Credit Union provide such generous Thanksgiving food baskets for our staff to distribute to those in need in our programs and communities. Food insecurity is an issue for so many every day, and that is one reason we host a Mobile Food Market once a month in partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank, the Malden Zonta Club and so many other volunteers and community partners,” said Dianne Farraher-Smith, Assistant Vice President of Hallmark Health System. “We see Metro Credit Union and its employees as another important community partner with us as we serve our patients and participants every day as part of our system of care at Hallmark Health System,” Farraher-Smith added.
Each department and branch contributed items to create dozens of baskets filled with traditional Thanksgiving staples like stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, and desserts, as well as a gift certificate for a turkey from Metro.
