Diana Moreno Honored with Credit Union Hero Distinction from Banker & Tradesman

Chelsea, MA (September 30, 2015) – Metro Credit Union’s Diana Moreno, Lynn Branch Manager, has been named one of Banker & Tradesman’s 2015 Credit Union Heroes. The Credit Union Hero distinction is awarded to credit union professionals that demonstrate leadership and commitment to not only their credit union, but also their community.

Moreno continually works to improve the lives of members and residents in the Lynn community as a whole since joining Metro in 2008. She has partnered with many local, non-profits like La Vida, Operation Bootstrap, Center Board, COMPASS, Lynn Housing Family Success Center and The Haven Project. Most notably, she co-chairs the Literacy Day Committee, which raises money that is delivered to local, non-profit organizations in Lynn. She also heads up the International Committee at the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce, which helps multi-cultural, small business owners grow and thrive in the Lynn area.

Charlene Bauer, Senior Vice President, Business Development and Community Relations at Metro Credit Union, says “Diana embodies the true philosophy of the credit union movement: People Helping People. She is an example of integrity, leadership and is genuinely connected to the community not only through our branch office, but through her volunteer efforts. Diana is a true advocate for the families of Lynn.”

In establishing the “Credit Union Heroes” award, Banker & Tradesman sought to highlight those who have made outstanding contributions to the industry and the community, giving freely of their time, energy and resources for volunteerism, community service and charity. Through an annual nomination process, the magazine seeks help from the credit union industry to identify worthy recipients who work tirelessly to not only deliver superior customer service, but also serve the community.
