Elaine Monge Named Credit Union Rising Star

CHELSEA, Mass. (May 6, 2014) - Metro Credit Union, the largest state-chartered credit union in Massachusetts, announced that Elaine Monge of Metro Credit Union has been named a Credit Union Rising Star by the Massachusetts Credit Union League, Credit Union Association of Rhode Island, New Hampshire Credit Union League and The Warren Group. The Credit Union Rising Stars award recognized the brightest and the most vibrant young credit union employees in the region. The winners not only excel in the industry, but also have the most potential to make a mark in the future.

Monge who has been with Metro Credit Union for over 10 years is the AVP, Branch Manager for the credit union’s largest branch location in Chelsea. Monge leads a staff of 20 employees who service an average of more than 50,000 member visits per month.

For more than two years now, Elaine and her team have been providing exceptional service and expert guidance to members with products and services that not only enhance their financial stability, but also help them reach their financial goals as well.

In addition to her day to day responsibilities at Metro, Monge is very active in the Chelsea community. She currently holds several positions at non-profit organizations:  Vice President of the Chelsea Collaborative, President of the Chelsea Kiwanis Club, and she is the Clerk of the Chelsea Community Fund.

Elaine received the award at the Credit Union Rising Stars Awards Breakfast before the annual Great New England Credit Union Show.

Presented by the Massachusetts Credit Union League, Credit Union Association of Rhode Island, New Hampshire Credit Union League and The Warren Group, the Credit Union Rising Stars were chosen by an independent panel in the financial services industry. To be eligible, an individual must work in a member credit union in Massachusetts, New Hampshire or Rhode Island, be under the age of 40 as of last birthday, be an outstanding employee, manager, or business leader and make a notable impact on their credit union or within the industry.
