Metro Credit Union Donates to the Jewish Federation of the North Shore

Platinum Visa Credit Card Program Continues to Provide Funds to Area Programs & Agencies

CHELSEA, MA (March 21, 2013) – Metro Credit Union, which is poised to become the Commonwealth’s largest state-chartered credit union, today announced that in its continuing effort to fund programs that support children and young adults, the credit union donated over $16,500 to agencies and programs affiliated with  the Jewish Federation of the North Shore (JFNS) through a Platinum Visa Card affinity program over the last seven years. Each time card holders make a  purchase using the affinity credit card, Metro CU matches a portion of the  purchase to contribute to the non-profit programs.

The Jewish Federation of the North Shore Platinum Visa Card provides funds to over fifteen area Jewish programs and agencies affiliated with The Federation. This year, Metro CU donated almost $2,500 to the JFNS through this program  alone.

The Federation partnered with Metro CU to allow supporters to “Make a  Purchase and Make a Difference.” Metro CU donates a percentage of purchases made with the JFNS Platinum Visa Card to the agency or program of the  cardholder’s choice, and credits a portion of purchases back to the cardholder’s account.

“The Federation provides valuable resources to the North Shore and we are honored to be a select partner,” said Robert M. Cashman, President and CEO of  Metro CU.
