Privacy Policy

for Metro Members

At Metro Credit Union, the basis of each Member relationship, many of which span generations, is trust. The Board of Directors, management, and staff of Metro Credit Union recognize that preserving your trust includes protecting your privacy. We do not, and will not, disclose your private information to anyone except as permitted or required by law.

We keep our Members' personal and private information in confidence. We limit the information we obtain to that which is necessary to deliver the highest quality service, and to offer products and services that are of value to our Members. For example, we may compile information from membership and loan applications as well as other forms; from transactions you have made with others and Metro; from third parties such as consumer reporting agencies/credit bureaus; or from information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms, such as from your current or past employers or from other institution s where you conduct financial transactions.

We share Member information with discretion. We may share some or all of the nonpublic, personal financial information we collect about you, but we pledge to share such information with prudence and only as permitted by law. We have entered into agreements with other companies or may in the future enter into agreements that provide either services to us or additional financial products for you to consider. We may share such information with reputable third parties that help us mail, process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of Metro Credit Union, follow your instructions as you authorize; protect the security of our financial records; and with companies that provide you with certain financial opportunities.

To protect our Members' privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections. Metro approves the use of all information provided to third parties. We do not permit these companies to sell to other third parties information provided to them.

If you terminate your membership with Metro Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.

We limit our own employees' access to information. The only information which will be available is the information appropriate to provide you with products and services. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and Member privacy.

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect all data that comply with federal and state regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.

We maintain accurate and current Member information. These procedures include responding to requests from Members to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. If you believe the information we maintain is not accurate, please contact Metro at 200 Revere Beach Parkway, Chelsea, MA 02150, or call Member Services at 877-MY-METRO. Please provide your complete name, address and account number.

We will notify you annually of our Privacy Policy. We have worked hard to earn your trust and it is our objective to keep it. That trust is the basis of our relationship and we thank you for it.
