Chelsea, MA – May 17, 2010 – Metro Credit Union Branch Manager Diana Moreno and Assistant Branch Manager Carole Buckley recently received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Department of the Treasury for their volunteer work at the United Way Financial Stability Center, operated by Lynn-based organization Serving People In Need (SPIN).

The United Way Financial Stability Center, powered by SPIN, helps working families and low-income residents move toward greater economic stability, higher earnings and home ownership. The Center provides financial and credit counseling, banking assistance, tax preparation assistance and financial training, among other services. Ms. Moreno and Ms. Buckley participated in the Center's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program by preparing taxes for the 2010 tax season, averaging eight hours of volunteer time per week.
