SARITIN RIZZUTO NAMED 2012 CREDIT UNION RISING STAR

Chelsea, Mass.  – Metro Credit Union, which is poised to become the Commonwealth's largest state-chartered credit union, announced that Saritin Rizzuto of Metro Credit Union has been named a Credit Union Rising Star by the Massachusetts Credit Union League, Credit Union Association of Rhode Island, New Hampshire Credit Union League and The Warren Group. The inaugural Credit Union Rising Stars award recognized the brightest and most vibrant young credit union employees in the region. The winners not only excel in the industry, but also have the most potential to make a mark in the future.

Prior to joining Metro CU, Rizzuto worked in the non-profit sector helping individuals in need, which provided her with a strong foundation for her success as a Business Development Officer.  In addition to the traditional Business Development role, Rizzuto has worked with many non-profits developing partnerships that assist low-income emerging populations.

In addition to her involvement with the Bunker Hill Community College Adult Education Advisory Board, Chelsea Rotary Club, Phoenix Charter Academy, CONNECT, Chelsea Hunger Network, and the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce Latino Business Division, Rizutto also sits on the boards of Casa Myrna, Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, the East Boston Social Center, Education for All, and North Suffolk Mental Health.

In her nomination of Saritin, Charlene Bauer, Senior Vice President, Community Relations and Business Development at Metro CU, stated “It is a pleasure to nominate Saritin Rizzuto as a Rising Star.  She epitomizes the true philosophy of the credit union movement:  People Helping People.  Saritin’s dedication to the community is tireless.  Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious and she truly brings life to a room.”

Saritin received the award at the Credit Union Rising Stars Awards Breakfast before the annual Great New England Credit Union Show. At the breakfast in Boxborough, Mass., keynote speaker and Olympic Gold Medalist Tim Daggett, gave a speech proving how determination and perseverance can lead to extraordinary accomplishments.

Presented by the Massachusetts Credit Union League, Credit Union Association of Rhode Island, New Hampshire Credit Union League and The Warren Group, the Credit Union Rising Stars were chosen by an independent panel in the financial services industry. To be eligible, an individual must work in a member credit union in Massachusetts, New Hampshire or Rhode Island, be under the age of 40 as of last birthday, be an outstanding employee, manager, or business leader and make a notable impact on their credit union or within the industry.
