Metro Employees Donate Food Baskets for Thanksgiving

Chelsea, MA – In the spirit of giving back to the community during the holiday season, Metro employees participated in a Thanksgiving basket drive. Each department and branch contributed items to create over 20 baskets filled with traditional Thanksgiving staples like stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, and desserts, as well as a gift certificate for a turkey and thoughtful touches like cameras, holiday décor, and recipes. This is the first year that Metro has undertaken this initiative and employees look forward to making it an annual tradition.

The baskets were donated to St. Luke’s-San Lucas Food Pantry in Chelsea and from there, were distributed to families in need in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Food Pantry, founded in 2007, serves an average of 800 individuals per month by providing free-of-cost, non-perishable food each Saturday. If you would like to volunteer or donate to St. Luke’s-San Lucas Food Pantry, call 617-884-3300.
