Mary Helming joins Metro Credit Union

CHELSEA, MA –October 3, 2011– Metro Credit Union announced the appointment of Mary Helming as Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager. Ms. Helming will oversee the development of new Commercial Services relationships and manage the existing commercial loan portfolio.  Ms. Helming has over 25 years of experience managing and developing commercial loan portfolios for large and mid-sized financial institutions.

Prior to joining Metro, Ms. Helming was Vice President, Commercial Lending, at Danversbank.  She was responsible for commercial real estate loans, construction loan and business loan originations and portfolio management.  Helming also spent eight years as Vice President, Corporate Banking Division, at Warren Five Cents Savings Bank in Peabody, MA.  During her tenure, Ms. Helming regularly exceeded target loan production goals, developed, implemented, and monitored the Bank’s appraisal policy, and originated and closed the first “Local Initiative Program” construction loan at the Bank.

Ms. Helming received her MBA from Northeastern University and her BS in Finance from Siena College. She resides in Hamilton, MA with her husband and is mother to Katherine and Emily.  She is also a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of Discretionary Grant Committee for North Shore United Way and a member of The Hamilton Foundation.
