Metro Walks to Fight Juvenile Diabetes  

Chelsea, MA – November 15, 2011- A loyal supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Metro Credit Union recently participated in the annual JDRF Fundraiser held in Boston.

Metro employees, friends, and families joined the “Alyssa’s All-Stars” team for a 3 mile walk around the Esplanade in Boston. Thanks to their fundraising efforts, this year the team of “Alyssa’s All-Stars” was able to raise over $20,000. Metro has participated in the walk for several years, and to date has helped “Alyssa’s All-Stars” raise over $260,000 in the fight against juvenile diabetes.

“The ongoing fundraising efforts and generous commitment of our employees provide for continued research, with the hope that one day there will be a cure,” said Robert M. Cashman, President and CEO of Metro.
