Eileen Danahey joins Metro Credit Union

Appointed as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer


Chelsea, MA –April 20, 2010– Metro Credit Union announced the appointment of Eileen Danahey as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  Danahey will report to Robert M. Cashman, President and Chief Executive Officer, and will oversee accounting and finance for the organization.

Prior to joining Metro, Danahey was Vice President of Finance for Meridian Interstate Bancorp, the $1.1 billion holding company for East Boston Savings Bank.  Danahey provided leadership for accounting, financial reporting, investment review and credit risk oversight.  Danahey’s responsibilities also included budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, ALCO modeling and reporting, and she played a key role in preparing for the acquisition of $500 million Mount Washington Bank. Prior to joining East Boston Savings Bank, Danahey was Chief Accounting Officer at Slades Bank and also led the Finance team at Webster Bank.

Danahey earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Providence College and her Master’s degree in Business Administration and CPA designation from the Carroll Graduate School of Management at Boston College. She currently resides in North Attleboro with her family.
