Metro Credit Union names Director Emeritus

John Dalis honored by Board of Directors for 55 years of service.

 

Chelsea, MA – February 15, 2010 – Metro Credit Union announced that John Dalis has been honored with the title Director Emeritus by the Metro Board of Directors. Mr. Dalis completed 55 years of service on Metro's Board and most recently served as the Membership Officer and a member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Dalis recently retired from the Metro Board of Directors.

“John has served this credit union tirelessly for 55 years,” stated Metro Board Chairman Marvin Cashman. “His dedication and efforts contributed greatly to the success of this organization. John's commitment to our membership was inspiring to everyone who had the pleasure to serve with him over these many years.”

A well known political figure in the city of Chelsea, Dalis is a former Alderman and City Clerk, who served the city of Chelsea for over 25 years.

To commemorate his service to the credit union, Chairman of the Board Marvin L. Cashman and Chief Executive Officer Robert M. Cashman presented Mr. Dalis with a Chelsea Clock on behalf of the Metro Credit Union Board of Directors. The award was presented at the national credit union convention held in Boston to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the first credit union in the United States, by the Massachusetts legislature in1909.
