Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home


Chelsea, MA – February 9, 2010 – Metro Credit Union recently donated $5,000 to the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, the second installment of a five-year commitment totaling $25,000. Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home provides high quality skilled nursing and residential care to those who are too frail or debilitated to live at home, and are suffering from medical complications of age, including dementia or Alzheimer's Disease.

Robert M. Cashman, President and CEO of Metro Credit Union, was pleased to personally deliver this year's donation, stating “Metro Credit Union is founded on the principal of people helping people, and we are proud of our long-term support of this deserving institution.”

The funds represent a multi-year commitment to support the expansion of the skilled care facilities located on Admiral's Hill in Chelsea. Construction is underway for the Leonard Florence Center for Living, the third innovative housing option for seniors on the Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Campus. The Center joins Cohen-Florence-Levine Estates Assisted Living and Florence and Chafetz Home for Specialized Care - all under the auspices of Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home. “We are delighted to make this donation to benefit the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home and to support the citizens of our community. One of our main goals is to provide support to the communities we serve by continuing to fund programs and services that improve the lives of people in our community,” Cashman added.
