Charlene Bauer named Rotarian of the Year 


BOSTON, MA July 26, 2011- Charlene Bauer, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Metro Credit Union, was recently named Rotarian of the Year by the Chelsea Rotary Club.
Charlene joined the Chelsea Rotary Club in 2001 and has participated in several international initiatives including a Rotaplast mission to Chile, Pure Water for the World mission to Honduras, and the building of a medical facility in Columbia. Through her travels, Charlene experienced the respect Rotary holds throughout the world and is honored to be part of a club that truly changes the lives of people. Locally she has participated in various programs including book drives, reading to children, scholarship fund raising, and Camp Rotary. She served as club President in 2007, and she currently serves as the Foundation Chair of the Club.
“Giving back is an important part of my daily life,” said Charlene. “I truly feel privileged to share in the fellowship of this Club supporting many tremendous initiatives geared at bettering the lives of Chelsea residents and people throughout the world.”
In addition to Rotary, Charlene is the Treasurer of Chelsea Neighborhood Developers, works with the Collaborative on the Chelsea Summer Youth Employee Initiative, is on the Regional Employment Board, Salem Partnership Board, Lynn Partnership Board and is the Secretary for Boy Scout Troop 58, Danvers.
